System Design

Whether you have used us for the initial investigation or not, GeothermalPlus can design the most efficient heating and/or cooling system in conjunction with our extremely experienced business partners. This can be from calculating the energy required from a ground source system through to full system and borehole design.

design

GeothermalPlus will undertake the site investigation and analysis, including ground thermal conductivity testing and/or an open loop well pump test. We will then use this to provide a technical and economic feasibility assessment of your site, specific to ground source heat pump optimisation.

Once the groundwork of analysis and feasibility studies have been completed, it then falls to our expert design team to specify and configure the recommended and required system. This can be split into two parts, both of which are within GeothermalPlus' expertise.

GSHP design

Designing a groundsource heat pump system can be quite complex. The overall groundsource system performance depends on changing, long-term thermal interaction between the GSHP and the building load side of the system. The system operating efficiency depends mainly on the temperature difference between the GSHP and the building load. Smaller temperature differences allow more efficient system performance.

GeothermalPlus designers have vast experience in reaching on optimal, highly efficient design.

Internal Mechanical Services design

Working alongside the project owners, we will calculate the building requirements and specify the heating/cooling power required from the GSHP system.

Our skills range from designing the building services and engineering installations, to advising on cost and providing all complementary services. GeothermalPlus has an advantage in that we can cover all aspects of a design project so that our designers are talking as one, from day one.
